Raglan Area School – Easter
Chocolate bunny madness arrives and with it comes at least 2 days off! Good Friday and Easter Monday. For those of us in the education sector, there is a third day off known as bonus Easter Tuesday.
So Raglan Area School will be closed for students on:
Good Friday Friday 25th March
Easter Monday Monday 28th March
Tuesday 29th March

Schools closed on Easter Tuesday
For over 60 years now Easter Tuesday has been a school holiday for children who go to state and state integrated schools in NZ. By law schools must be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday as they are public holidays, and Easter Tuesday which is a school holiday.
When Easter falls in April this school holiday often goes unnoticed by parents. This is because where possible the Ministry tries to align the start of the April school holidays with Easter.
When Easter falls early, like this year where Good Friday is on 25 March, the end of term can’t be aligned so there is a 5 day Easter break during term time.
