We have 2 key dates to announce.

Teacher Only Day Tuesday 4th June

One is a change to our previously published Teacher Only Day in Term 2.  The Teacher Only Day will now be Tuesday 4th June (the day after the King’s Birthday Holiday).   We apologise for any inconvenience this change causes.

Kura Tuakana finish 12pm on Wednesday 15th May

The other important date is for Kura Tuakana (Years 7-13) only.  

The senior school teacher’s union PPTA have called a Paid Union Meeting on Wednesday 15th May. On this day students from year 7-13 will need to leave school by midday.  

• All Kura Tuakana (year 7-13) students will be dismissed from their classrooms at 12:00pm. Please ensure that you have made arrangements for your child to be picked up or to make their way home from school at this time.

• School ends at the regular time of 3pm for all Kura Teina (Years 0-6) students.

• The school bus schedule will operate at the usual times. Kura Tuakana school bus students will be supervised at school if they are not able to go home at 12:00pm.

The focus of this meeting is responding to government proposals to channel money out of public education and into charter schools and how the union will continue to develop our constitutional objective to affirm and advance Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
