Terrific Cross Country Shared writing from D1 Class
We started with star-jumps, leg stretches and jumping, then we all stood at the starting line. We felt nervous, scared, excited and happy. BANG! The clapper slapped- we were off! We ran and ran and ran, we were exhausted at the end but felt very pleased, surprised and proud. People shouted “HOORAY”, “WELL DONE”. Cross Country was TERRIFIC!
The Race By Seth Waters-Waitere
Boom! My heart went as we started the race. As everyone passed, the people lining up pushed by, it was shocking. I got to the bush track, speeding by everyone. What was that noise about? It’s cheering up the top. I just carry on running. Finally, I get to the waka shed. The water sparkled, glittered and shone. It hovered around the beaches. I’m almost at the next bush track. I passed sharp, green, spiky gorse. As I reached the bush track, my puff got weaker and weaker.
