Kia ora e te whānau,
We are very lucky to have a Raglan Local Hero visiting Kura Teina during weeks 8 to 10 (from next week 12th September). Sally Fraser will be presenting a slideshow explaining the work she does for Pound Hounds, an organisation which fosters and rehomes dogs. Sally will be bringing her two foster dogs along with her to meet the children. Rory is a maltese and Margo is a pure bred collie. Sally’s dogs are well trained around children and all groups will be given instruction on how to stay safe around unfamiliar dogs.
It would be much appreciated if children could bring in a gold coin on their visit day. Koha will be collected and gifted to the Fister Collection, via our local Vet Clinic. What a great way to give back to our community!
We understand that some children may be apprehensive about meeting unfamiliar dogs, we ask that you contact your class teacher if you have any concerns and we will accommodate them.
Ngā mihi,
Nicole Bell and Kura Teina Staff
