We have had a terrific start to 2023. Kura Teina is made up of 14 classrooms. We have 4 Yr 0-2 classrooms; 4 Yr 3-4 classrooms and 4 Yr 5-6 classrooms plus two Maori Medium classes.
We have 5 kaiako who are either new or returning to RAS. Welcome Whaea Ruby who is a beginner teacher and in the Yr 5/6 team. To Whaea Annika, Whaea Emily, Whaea Victoria and Matua Nick, who are returning to RAS or moving from team Tuakana, it’s great to have you all on board and we are so excited to have you as part of the team.
This year we have introduced team leaders to the fold. These talented wahine are vital to ensuring that every possible avenue for learning is available to your tamariki. If you have any queries at all please see Whaea Nicole Yrs 0-2; Whaea Amy Yrs 3-4, Whaea Alison Yrs 5-6 and Whaea Bonita Te Roopu Aroha ki te reo. However, your first point of contact should always be with your child’s classroom teacher. Whaea Hilary is our designated Literacy/Hybrid Coach while Whaea Stephanie remains our Pastoral lead.
By now you should have received classroom newsletters from all Kaiako introducing themselves and a little about what to expect this term. Learning Conversations are a highlight this week as well as some awesome outdoor education activities. Surfing lessons are available for Yr 6 tamariki and not forgetting the Western Cluster sports events dotted throughout each term.
Please check our school’s website and social media platforms to keep apprised of what is happening within the Kura.
Feel free to call in and say “kia ora” would love the opportunity to meet with you face to face or alternatively contact me at haylee_webber@raglanarea.school.nz.
