Term 4 has been busy and continues to be so for the remainder of the year. This is what has happened in the past weeks. SENIOR EXAM LEAVE We are well into our NCEA Exams and have completed our senior prizegiving and leavers dinner. We wish all our seniors well for the remainder of the exam period and into next year for those that are leaving.
Looking ahead the Last week of term
Stationery Lists 2024 These lists will be sent out to you next week. Please note we are encouraging all students in years 7-13 to be bringing their own devices to school from 2024. For years 7-10 we recommend a chromebook and for years 11-13 we recommend a windows laptop. Please click here to see some recommended options. The required PE shirt for all students is also included in these lists. NCEA UPDATE FOR 2024 From 2024, NCEA is a 60-credit qualification at Levels 1 – 3. In order to gain NCEA, the Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite must also be attained. Learning rather than assessment and credentialing will be the focus. Parents and Caregivers might ask their young person: “What did you learn today?” rather than: “What assessment are you working on?” This will look and feel different for whānau who have had older siblings experience NCEA. Students can gain an NCEA Level 1, 2 or 3 Certificate endorsement by attaining 50 credits (out of 60) with Merit or Excellence, for a Merit or Excellence endorsement. This remains the same. If a student achieves 14 or more credits in a course which includes at least one external standard, they will be eligible for Course endorsement. External assessments will look and feel different from external assessments of the past. There will also be variations in external assessments between and across subjects. 2024 start dates for years 7-13 Monday 5th of February Years 11-13 course confirmation only. Wednesday 7th February All years 7-13 start at 11am with powhiri in the hall.
