Tēnā koutou
The Board of Trustees met on Tuesday 30 March 2021 for a special meeting to make a decision on our next steps regarding the Uniform Proposal distributed by the Board in November 2020. We acknowledge and thank the parents and staff members who were present in the room during this meeting.
We acknowledge all of the feedback that we have had up to this point including; two public meetings; the uniform proposal survey; online communications via a variety of forums and face to face conversations.
The Board voted on two options for the next steps:
Vote NO – the uniform proposal goes no further for the term of the current Board
Vote YES – the Board continues with a proposal for a school uniform in principle – with the details of what this looks like still to be planned
The outcome was the second option, “Vote YES”, had the majority vote.
The Board has agreed that the Board Uniform sub-committee will now reconvene to look at the details of what this decision means. Further consultation with the community is a likely next step in the form of another survey. The Board Uniform sub-committee will present a proposal to the full Board meeting to be held on Thursday, 29 April 2021.
Ngā mihi
