RAS Hauora Team

Is your child needing some extra support, living with anxiety, dealing with a learning problem?

The Raglan Area School Hauora Team is here to come alongside you and your child and together find ways to deal with the problem.

The team is made up of counsellors, a social worker, nurse, doctor and kaumatua.

Hauora Team can be contacted via the school office 07 825 8140, teachers, Betty Diprose (lead counsellor) or the hauora team member directly.  You can also email hauora@raglanarea.school.nz to access their services.

All members of the hauora team are qualified in their area of work and belong to professional associations.  A strength of the team is their commitment to working together alongside class teachers to create wrap around support for your child. All conversations are confidential unless someone’s life is thought to be at risk. In those situations the hauora team member and client will talk about who to tell.

• Our work covers areas such as anxiety, grief, anger management, challenging home situations, non-engagement in class, gender or neuro diversity.

• We like to work collaboratively with teachers and whanau to create wrap around type support for our rangatahi and tamariki.

• All conversations are confidential unless someone’s life is thought to be at risk. In those situations the hauora team member and client/student with talk about who to tell.

• Referrals can come from any source eg teachers, parents/caregivers, outside agencies or self referrals. Betty Diprose is the team member who is the point of contact. She can be contacted around and about the kura or by email: hauora@raglanarea.school.nz.
