Kia ora e te whānau
On behalf of the Raglan Area School Board of Trustees, I wish to inform you that a decision has been made to extend the temporary closure of the entire school until next Friday 10 June with a planned return to school on Monday 13th June.
I have met with school leaders this afternoon and we have collectively made this decision due to the impact of Covid on our teaching and relief staff who are isolating at home as this will give us 11 days for teachers and relief staff to recover. It is our hope that we will then have a good run onsite for the remaining four weeks of this school term.
Bubble Classes
Please note that we will be operating Bubble Classes onsite next week to assist those families who have made use of this option previously (i.e. children of essential workers and those with other personal circumstances requiring our support). Please contact the office (phone 8258140) if you wish to discuss this further or email principal@raglanarea.school.nz.
Online Learning
School leaders will be sending out more detailed information for teaching and learning programmes, specific to what is expected of your children next week Tuesday 7 to Friday 10 June. Please note that our school learning portals are open for access on the website.
Office Open
Office Staff will be onsite and those who require access to devices may phone the office (phone 8258140) or turn up face to face between 10 am and 2.00 pm on Tuesday 7th June. We will NOT be rolling out devices to everyone as we will be back on site Monday the 13th of June. However, take note of the information contained in the teachers’ messages to you that will support you to engage your children at home.
We apologise for any inconvenience that this decision may cause but believe that this will support our desire to reopen onsite and to stay open for the last four weeks of the school term.
Ngā mihi nui – Whaea Louisa (Tumuaki / Principal)
