Poutama
Ko te Poutama e pā ana ki te putanga o ngā tamariki i te rōpū me te katoa o te mātauranga kua riro i a rātou pēnei ki; te manaaki, te whakawhanaunga, te kaitiakitanga me te poutama anō. He tohu te Poutama e kiia nei kia whakapau kaha ngā kaiwhakaputa, nā wai rā eke panuku ai.
The poutama is a reference to the tamariki leaving the rōpū with all of the mātauranga they have attained for example; manaakitanga, whakawhanaungatanga, kaitiakitanga and poutama. The poutama is a symbol of Te Rōpū Aroha ki te Reo graduate students striving towards excellence.
Karioi Maunga
Ko tō tātou maunga tapu tēnei, koia te wairua o ngā mātua tūpuna, whakapapa mai, whenua mai, hītori mai, otirā, koia ko tātou anō.
Our spiritual, sacred maunga Karioi symbolising the importance of our whakapapa, our whenua, our history, and our people.
Taratara
Ko Taratara e tohu ana i ngā ākonga katoa i Te Rōpū Aroha ki te Reo, e ako ana i te marumaru o Karioi maunga. Ko Taratara Pōuri ko Whaingaroa moana. Ko Taratara Kōmā ko ngā ākonga.
The taratara pattern symbolises all of the students in Te Rōpū Aroha ki te Reo learning within the shadows of Karioi maunga. The dark taratara represents Whaingaroa moana. The light taratara represents the students.
Manaia
Ko ngā Manaia ngā pou kuia o Te Rōpū Aroha ki te Reo. Ko e Kui rāua ko Nana Eva ēnei. Tērā te koru e karapoi ana i ngā Manaia ko tō rāua mauriora i waenga i te rōpu, he korou e kore e mimiti, mau tonu mau tonu.
The manaia represents the two founders of Te Rōpū Aroha ki te Reo. E Kui and nana Eva. They are both seen in manaia guardian form. The kōru surrounding the manaia represents their mauri, eternal energy within the rōpū.
Mangopare
Ko Mangopare kei raro i te tohu nei, e mihi ana ki ngā uri whakatupu mai i Whaingaroa Kohanga Reo, otirā, rātou katoa tau tata mai, tau tawhiti mai ki Te Rōpū Aroha ki te Reo.
The mangopare seen at the bottom of this tohu acknowledges the future generations of tamariki from Whaingaroa Kōhanga Reo and other tamariki near and afar that enter and join Te Rōpū Aroha ki te Reo.

- He maatau te tamaiti ki ngaa kawa ki te taha moana, ki te taha ngahere, ki ngaa marae hoki.
